The Land

A mild winter has left the roads in fantastic shape, inviting exploration. It’s the perfect time to enjoy all this beautiful place has to offer: searching for stunning rocks, admiring breathtaking views, savoring solitude, and taking flight with my drone.

The Rocks

Desert Riverbed - Unearthing Hidden Treasures

Could there be buried treasure here? Changes are happening! That riverbed, once adorned with agates, chalcedony, opal, and druzy quartz, now lies beneath four feet of new sand. Unearthing hidden treasure? Not this time. But someday, someone will. It’s been saved for them, just as it was for me. Time will reveal it again in its own way.

Now my mom can explore without worrying about steep banks and slippery slopes. The smooth, level surface is conveniently at ground level.

These shifting sands erode easily and move swiftly off the rim. What’s buried in one place emerges elsewhere. Change is indeed a welcome companion!

Rock hunting in this landscape is forever transformed! Who could have guessed? Whether the rocks are beautiful or not, life is simply wonderful. There’s nothing like wandering freely in such a place. Let another amazing season begin. 👧
